  • With so many advanced compact cameras now available, the Canon PowerShot G15 may not hold the lofty position among enthusiast photographers that its predecessors did. That is not to say it isnt an excellent compact camera, though, as it is certainly equa...

  • Wide aperture throughout zoom range is impressive, smaller than predecessor, great image quality straight from camera, raw capture, impressive autofocus in all lighting conditions, excellent stabilisation system
  • Expensive, bulky, shorter zoom than some competitors, 85 per cent field-of-view in viewfinder is limiting and there's zero focus or settings feedback to the eye, high ISO settings still aren't all that, occasional "black out" issue
  • The PowerShot G15 is testament to how relevant this camera type still is. Its impressive image quality is helped along by the f/1.8-2.8 maximum aperture 5x optical zoom lens and processing system, while the the overall performance and new, shrunken-dow...

  • Build quality (quality materials, assembly, robust feel, etc.), Noise handled well up to 1600 ISO, Good handling, plenty of controls and easily accessible settings, Full HD video with a sharp picture and decent stereo sound
  • Some design features lost: no swivel screen, fewer controls, Lens isn't on par with competitors, Poorquality optical viewfinder: small, inaccurate, uncomfortable, Video: 24 fps framerate isn't amazingly smooth
  • Like the G7, Canon's PowerShot G15 is camera that's perfectly fine on the technical front but which ditches some of the features formerly seen in this range, stripping the camera of any real bonus compared with competitor models. The G15 is clearly no mat...

  • In some recent reviews, we've taken Canon to task for a lack of innovation in their consumer-oriented product lines. The ELPH 110 HS , PowerShot S110 , and EOS Rebel T4i were all frankly lazy updates to well-worn camera concepts, and the time-battered T3 ...

  • Abstract:  The Canon G15 follows the G12. The new model has a massive, robust, and heavy body and has major changes from its predecessor. The G15 is Canon’s newest high-end compact system with a 12MP sensor (1/1.7”), a large LCD screen, and a lot of manually co...

  • Great image quality, Professional level mode dial with lots of physical buttons, Fast f1.8f2.8 lens, button, Solid build
  • Below average viewfinder, Nonarticulating screen will bother some, Some AF hunting in very low light
  • As the newest member of Canon's G Series cameras, the Canon G15 does not disappoint. It is an all around excellent point and shoot for anyone ranging from amateurs to seasoned professionals. The 12.1-megapixel sensor paired with the Digic 5 image process...

  • Excellent, fast f/1.8-2.8 5x optical zoom lens with 28-140mm equivalent range, Intelligent IS with up to 4-stops of correction, Upgraded to 12-megapixel, 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor, Comfortable and ergonomic build, with a slimmer design than the G12, High ...
  • LCD screen no longer articulated (unlike its predecessor, the G12), Lens slightly soft at wide and tele, High chromatic aberration and barrel distortion at wide angle in uncorrected RAW files, Optical viewfinder has limited coverage (about 80%) and dem...
  • The Canon G15 premium compact digital camera steps up its game over its predecessor, the G12, in many ways. The most notable is the 5x optical zoom (28-140mm equivalent) lens that's very fast for a camera of this type, ranging from f/1.8 at wide to f/2...

  • The Canon PowerShot G15 is an advanced point and shoot camera that is just full of surprises. Despite a small sensor, it manages to squeeze out every bit of performance from a tiny, non-BSI sensor. It packs a wallop of features and really steps up the g...

  • Bright f/1.8-f/2.8 5x zoom, Quality stills and videos, Excellent image stabilization system
  • Better alternatives available, Pokes along in RAW, Very noisy at high ISOs
  • Although the PowerShot G15 is a good camera, reluctantly we're getting off the small-chip G-series merry-go-round – especially at its list price of $499. We've endorsed them for many years but times have changed. Although this is a solid, nicely-feature...
